Project Description

Alex Hooper is a stand-up comedian, actor and professional roaster. He delights crowds by blending dark humor with silly positivity.

Alex is best known for his appearances on America’s Got Talent. He’s one of a select few contestants to have been asked to return after being eliminated in season 13. His first AGT performance has over 75 million total online views.

Alex wanted to commemorate one of his signature expressions during the show - "Calm Down, Peasants" with a t-shirt design.

 

Design Features

  • Retro-inspired design in bright, bold colors that align with Alex's personality
  • Tail illustration - a nod to a costume that Alex often wears on stage while performing
  • Vector design that can be used in many different scenarios, and scale flawlessly

Inside Voices creates and shapes original podcasts about music, culture, and current affairs.

Founder and CEO, Gary Scott, was head of programming at NPR-affiliate KCRW in Los Angeles for eight years and launched the station’s podcast network called “one of the most interesting … in the biz,” by Hot Pod.

This website design is straightforward and to-the-point. It showcases the agency's work, and prompts aspiring creators to send in their pitches.

  • Single page design that serves as a digital business card for the agency
  • Mobile-friendly layout, so that website visitors have a great experience, regardless of the device that they are using
  • Links out to the various podcasts that the agency produces

This accounting firm wanted to refresh their logo design to a more modern and streamlined style.

  • Reimagination of the brand's signature uppersand keeps prior brand elements in tact while giving them a new look and feel.

Underrated Presents is a music event promoter and curator based in Los Angeles, CA. Featuring an eclectic variety of DJs and artists, Underrated creates unique experiences in the electronic dance space.

This promoter was excited to get some cohesive brand elements in place as they relaunch after the pandemic.

 

Design Features

  • Minimal, yet unique design elements show that the brand is modern, edgy, and accessible at the same time.
  • The bespoke vector textures can be used in a variety of scenarios and to add depth to graphics, the website, and other applications.
  • Photos use a two-tone treated color effect alongside minimal and bold font choices to create an avant-garde feel.

Project Description

KCRW is a NPR radio station in Los Angeles, CA.

A tandem project to the KCRW Website Redesign, I redesigned the radio app so that the two projects would have the same brand direction.

 

Design Features

  • The home screen allows the user to select which of the 3 live streams they would like to listen to, along with a dynamically changing current program/song.
  • Within the app, you can also browse the radio station's schedule of programs, so that you can tune in to the shows that matter most to you.
  • You're able to access previous broadcasts in the on demand archives section.
  • A custom designed player portion of the app integrates the radio station's branding, while showcasing the current show artwork or DJ host.

Project Description

The mission of Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles is to make live music accessible to all. They produce 50 free concerts each summer at MacArthur Park.

Levitt wanted a more modern, flat logo identity. They wanted a mark that would convey their energy, and unified mission to help their community. This is the logo that I designed to convey those core values.

 

Design Features

  • Includes a distinctly modern half-circle shape that mimics the shape of the physical performance space.
  • The center burst represents the vibrant energy of the brand and their audience.
  • This logo design uses a mix of serif and sans-serif fonts to show the eclectic, yet professional brand personality.
